MEET HEC
Hello incoming first years and Health Sciences students! We are the Health Sciences Orientation Committee, commonly referred to as HEC.
HEC is a dedicated group of 8 students who are committed to ensuring a seamless transition for incoming students. They’re the “heart” of orientation, keeping everything “circulating” smoothly. Our goals include designing an engaging orientation program that inform students about academic resources, campus life, and support services, as well as facilitate connections between new students and the university community.
Mujeedat Lekuti
Head COAT
Hello!! My name is Mujeedat Lekuti, and I’m thrilled to be Head Coat this year! I’ve lived in Brampton, ON for the past 14 years, but I was born in America and am ethnically Nigerian (🇳🇬)!
As Head Coat, I oversee all these portfolios and ensure all stakeholders’ voices are heard! My favorite part of O-week is seeing people break out of their shells and form bonds with each other. I’m very excited to see all the new events and traditions take place this year! O-week truly has something for everyone!!
My hobbies include binge-watching Law and Order SVU and Criminal Minds. I love watching basketball games; my first job ever was scorekeeping at the Brampton Basketball Minor Association.

Luca Manconi
Marketing
Hey everyone! I am Luca (he/him/his) and I have lived in my childhood home in Ottawa all my life until I started at Queen’s. I am about to begin my final year of BHSC (scary I know…), hence why most of the other executives and COATs (orientation leaders) will call me “grandpa HEC.” As the Marketing Executive, my primary role is moderating whatever you see posted on this account, as well as the creation of the Handbook (stay tuned for this!). My favourite memories of O-Week have to be seeing the incoming students gradually break through their shells and become accustom to life at Queen’s, as well as the lifelong memories and friends you make throughout the week!
When I am not doing school, you will typically find me forcing my friends to hit the newest patio in town, or you might find me alone, snuggled up in a blanket, watching Netflix (I make Myers-Briggs scared lol). Additionally, this summer, I have grown to enjoy cooking and I am trying to learn at least 10 new recipes that I can implement into my meal planning next school year.

Cheyenne Ding
Community Outreach
Hellooo everyone! My name is Cheyenne (she/her/hers) and I am originally from Langley, BC (a city “close” to Vancouver I’d argue). I am going into my third year of BHSc and am honoured to be the Community Engagement executive this year!!! This is an amazing role that combines both outreach and social components. Internally, I organize all team socials for COATs and HEC including pre-week, as well as leader training sessions not administered by ORT. Externally, I work to collaborate with our chosen charitable organization (Extend-A-Family Kingston) to plan and execute events that advocates for their mission!
I have had the privelige of seeing students who continue to hold love for orientation even in our third or final year of this program, which just has to be the best thing about O-week. This year specifically, I am loving the events planning process with our lovely HEC team 🫶🏻🫂, and I cannot wait to see some new events come to life this year!
In my downtime, I like to find new shows, movies, and music to fall in love with~ Around campus, you may find me dancing, singing, doing some light reading, or taking (lots of) naps!

Jill Morris
Academics
Hi everyone! I’m Jill (she/her) and I was actually born and raised here in Kingston. I am about to enter my third year of the BHSc program, and I am so excited to partake in another orientation experience! Some of my favourite university memories so far include painting my coveralls, singing karaoke with my fellow COATs, and decking myself out in glow sticks for last year’s glow bash - all things that happened during orientation. A little more about me - I love spending time out in the sun, spend way too much money on books and sweet treats, and am always down for a pier day or a pickup soccer game! As the Academics Executive this year, my goal is to ensure all incoming BHSc students are introduced to all of the student wellness and academic resources at their disposal, as well as lessen any stress or anxiety they may be experiencing going into the beginning of the school year. To achieve this, I have organized events such as the Academics, Mental Health, and EDIIA Presentation, as well as the Health Sci Exploration Exposition. I cannot wait for the opportunity to meet you all and watch as you spend your first few days in what will quickly become your new home! I will always be a friendly face if you ever need to chat, get some directions, or ask any questions, as I am here to support you as you start this new chapter. See you at O-Week!
JESSICA LEE
Finance
Hey everyone! I’m Jessica (she/her), this year’s fundraising executive, and I’m from Halifax, Nova Scotia (EAST COAST woohoo).
I’ve already said alot about myself in this video (definitely too much, and over many choking hazards), so I’ll take the opportunity to share how important orientation is to me, what my role is this year, and why you should be SO excited for it!
A lot of my extracurricular work at Queen’s centers around mentorship, guidance, and counselling; I remember how difficult and foreign all of this seemed to me three years ago, so I’d love to extend a helping hand to anyone with uncertainty. You’ve already made a HUGE decision in choosing BHSc, and that’s something to CELEBRATE, and be PROUD of! While my specific role on HEC centers around fundraising to fund student bursaries and improve accessibility, overall, orientation culture at Queen’s is simply unforgettable, and I PROMISE I will do my absolute best to make this the most positive, impactful initiation into university life.

Ginger MEEK
Logistics
Hey everyone! I am Ginger (she/her), one half of this years Logistics Executive Team! I am from the town of Caledon, Ontario and live on a farm (if you have heard of Caledon this should not be a surprise). I am going into my third year of BHSC and am absolutely loving it! As Logistics Executives, Ali and I are essentially event planning 101. We are responsible for planning and making sure all O-Week events run smoothly and are as safe and fun as possible! My biggest takeaway from O-week has to be all the amazing people I’ve met and friendships I have made (cheesy ik) during both my own 2022 O-Week and being an Orientation Leader (shout out COATS) in 2023! When I am not at school, you can find me running at the pier (look for the person with the reddest face), catching up on some Netflix, or trying a new restaurant downtown. I am super excited to be part of this years HEC team (love you all) and am looking forward to seeing everyone's lovely faces at hopefully the BEST OWEEK YET!
Ali Haider
Logistics
Hey everyone I’m Ali! I’m super excited to be 1/2 of this year’s logistics executive team. I’m from Oakville, Ontario and am heading into my third year at Queen’s.
As you learned from Ginger yesterday, being logistics executives we’re mainly responsible for helping to organize events (and drive the U-Haul 🚙). We’ve spent a lot of time planning some new events and are so excited to see all of you involved.
When on campus, I’m usually Cogro camping (coffee addict ☕️☕️), but I also enjoy heading downtown, playing intramurals, and a being a spikeball nuisance on the beach.

Samre Abraham
EDIIA
Hey guys! I’m Samre (she/her), this year’s EDIIA executive. As you’ve seen in the video, I am from Calgary, Alberta (west coast, WHOOO!).
In the video, you got to know a bit about me, so now I’d like to share more about my role. As the EDIIA executive, I aim to make orientation as inclusive and accessible as possible for both incoming students and our team. My tasks range from assisting with event planning and contributing EDIIA resources and initiatives to leading EDIIA trainings and helping with marketing to ensure our media and content are accessible and engaging. I focus on improving accessibility and inclusivity, addressing cultural sensitivity, language and gender inclusivity, financial accessibility, and disability accommodations.
When I’m not busy with school, you can find me at the gym, snuggled up in bed watching Netflix (probably Modern Family), or taking a nap. I love engaging with the community through clubs and various opportunities.
